The “Victim” Mentality

August 15, 2016

Imagine that you buy a calculator and somehow 2+2 is programmed to be 7 instead of 4. You try to balance your check book and it is not balancing and becomes frustrating. Then you go to store and have the same struggle with the cashier and this continues in every transaction for a few days, months and years. Soon you start wondering; why all these people are against me and are cheating me out of something that is rightfully mine.

A “belief” is a repetitive thought after thought after thought enforced by experiences. So soon after several experiences, you will believe to be a victim and stop taking responsibilities for your actions. Why do they do that to me?, It is not my fault?, Why do bad things always happen to me?, etc………

Regardless of the possible causes for this misalignment of 7 instead of 4, how can we realign ourselves and when would be the right time to do it?

The “right time” presents itself when we no longer tolerate the Dis-ease that this attitude has caused us.

The “desire” to be more joyful overcomes the discomfort of excuses. The joy of being a “deliberate creator” substitutes the fallacy of the belief that you are stuck in the world of “creation by default”.

Empowered by the truth that you have “the power to choose differently” versus this that you are experiencing will move you forward.

Allowing yourself “to forgive” and let go regardless of the conditions will propel all the fuel needed for your new journey toward a joyful destination.

Success is imminent when the attitude shifts from “What can I personally get or achieve” to “what can I contribute to impacting all for better”.

When they asked Dalai Lama who has been his greatest teacher he said: “The Chinese General who ordered the destruction of his temple and was responsible for his exile”.
