Best Microcurrent Facial in Redmond

January 24, 2018

While we cannot stop aging, there are ways available to maintain our youthful appearance.

As we age, the cumulative impact of repetitive facial movement becomes more pronounced on our face.  Repeated facial movements use certain muscles more, while the others that are rarely used, start to atrophy. That’s the reason why for some, there are only fine lines on the forehead, and others have deep frown lines. To minimize the appearance of these repetitive movements, and to re-energize atrophied muscles is why the microcurrent facial was created.

How It Works

The microcurrent facial works to re-educate the muscles of the face by using low-level electrical means to trigger more production of collagen and elastin at the cellular levels. The body on its natural electrical current, so what microcurrent facial therapy does is to mirror this electrical ability of the body, triggering chemical reactions that will cause more production of elastic and collagen. Elastin and collagen are responsible for the firmness of the facial muscles. This therapy helps to loosen the atrophied muscles, it clears the fine lines on the face, reduces wrinkling, giving firmness to the jaws and so many other wonderful benefits.

Microcurrent facial treatments are of different types:

• Galvanic treatment; mostly used to treat cellulite and for better circulation.

• Faradic treatment; mostly for facial muscles, and to enhance muscle metabolism

• Microcurrent treatment.

Microcurrent Treatment

In microcurrent facial treatment, a gel is applied to the face before the session starts. Without the gel, it will just be electrical shocks to the skin surface, further irritating the skin. With the gel applied to the face, though, you won’t even feel the shock. The gel helps the therapy get through to the muscles, and what is exciting about it, you won’t even feel the shock. The process is done using a set of probes(one is negative and the other positive) to produce the electricity. The muscles are then reeducated to regain their firmness, remove atrophy, fine lines, wrinkles and whatever deformed shape the muscles may have taken.

In microcurrent facial therapy, you can adjust the frequency to achieve different results; to enhance circulation, the frequency can be maintained at about 20Hz, and for deep facial, it is set to a much lower frequency, about 0.8Hz. At different frequencies, the treatment has different effects.

Is this a process you can do on your own?

While you may be aware of the wrinkles or fine lines on your face; you have no idea on how to manipulate the probes to readjust the muscles. In fact, during a session about 32 facial muscles are reeducated. It is advised though that microcurrent facial is started early, maybe in the early 20’s, better late than never. There is never a wrong time to look younger.
